Storical notes:
The musical band of Gubbio has very distant origins. Already since 1800 there was a musical band in our city which enhanced the important civil, religious and folkloristic events, supported by the administration which always took care of its development, by annually maintaining it financially and providing a hall for the rehearsals.
It is composed of about fifty musicians.
Its inventory varies from opera music to modern songs for bands, but also includes popular songs. The most famous is surely "Il fazzoletto" which is the real and true theme song of the Festa dei Ceri.
